Suddenly entered into rest at Kentwood Park Nursing Home, Picton on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Arnold Devries of Picton died at the age of 90. He was the son of the late Auke & Sijtske Devries (nee Swart). Arnold was the loving father of Sharon McLean (Jim), Janet Fernandez (Jorge), all of Belleville, Sally LaPorte (Marc) of Kingston and remembered by their mother, Eleanor Devries of Picton. He was the dearest grandpa of Katherine, Scott, Alexander, Nicholas, Rebecca, Danielle, Nicole and great grandpa of Jaklyn, Nathan, Scarlett and Parker. Arnold is survived by his sisters Ruth Westerhof (Frank) of Picton, Jane Devries of Belleville, his brother Sid Devries (late Helen) of Napanee, and by his sister-in-law Sylvia Devries of Trenton. Predeceased by his brothers John and Allen (Johanna). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Arnold will be sadly missed by his friend, Pat Romkey of Picton.
Mr. Devries is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street, Picton (613-476-2450) for visitation on Friday, May 13 from 6-8 p.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1 pm with visitation for 1 hour before the Service. Private family Inurnment at Glenwood Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation – Back the Build would be appreciated by the family.
