Obituary
Tavares, Antonio do Couto (Tony)
Our beloved Tony, a resident of Leamington, Ontario, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Born to Manuel and Guelhermina Tavares in Faial de Terra, Azores. Loving husband of Maria for 46 years, devoted father of Robert (Karen) and Sandra (Ryan). Proud vavô to Eric, Evan, Owen, Hudson, and Maddox. Dear brother of Joao (Conceição), Lurdes (late Filomeno Pereira), and Isaac (late Anna). Loving brother-in-law to Joe Freitas (Crisalda) and Jason Freitas (Ireny). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Tony worked at Omsteads for 40 years, a testament to his loyalty. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren that brought him so much joy, and he enjoyed the simple things in life: gardening, landscaping, making wine, and telling stories for a good laugh. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional Cancer Centre, Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan campus, and Windsor Es Hospice for their compassionate care. Visiting at Reid Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm and on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at St. Michael’s Church, 29 Elliott Street, Leamington from 9:30 am until Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Erie Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations can be made to Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, or Transition to Betterness.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Antonio Do Couto Tavares November 28 2022..
