After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Antonio (Anthony) Dos Anjos Sampaio passed away at home on March 30th, 2022, at the age of 81 in the presence of his family. Anthony immigrated from the Azores, Portugal to Toronto, Canada in 1967. After working as a paper printing machinist for several years, Anthony decided to pursue photography as his profession and opened a portrait studio in Brampton, Ontario in the late seventies. For over 20 years Anthony served the growing Portuguese community in Brampton by capturing their special moments through family portraits. Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of over 55 years Irene, his son Peter (Marlene) and daughter Cathy (Anthony). He was very proud of his grandchildren Julian, Sabrina, Sophia and Matthew who will greatly miss him. Anthony was a loving and compassionate husband, father and grandfather who guided his family through the challenges of life with faith, strength and belief in God. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, all relatives and friends and will be missed. May God bless him and may he rest in peace.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Internment to follow at Brampton Memorial Gardens.
