Anthony Tony van der Zande 1964 2022

Obituary of Anthony van der Zande
Born with a kind and loving soul plus a green thumb, he never missed a chance to try and brighten someone’s day; be it through sticking around and supporting when needed or simply trying to make you laugh. Throughout his life he faced many hardships which taught him necessary lessons to make him strong and patient, truly he endured more than one might imagine. Yet through it all Tony always smiled and presented gratitude for his blessing when they came their way, when something as simple as water was fetched for him he would say “thank you, thank you, thank you!”. After his diagnosis he pushed through ache and pain to continue to aid in caring for his mother, and still sought time to assist in farm work.
Tony passed away peacefully at Providence Care Hospital on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the age of 58. Predeceased by his beloved parents Bernardus ‘Ben’ and Henrica van der Zande and by his cherished daughter Savannah. Proud and loving father of A.J. and Malcolm. Dear brother of Bill (Kevin), Jessie, Wayne (Grace), Dennis (Jane), Ellen (the late Wayne), Bernie (Julie), Henry, Robin (Mike), Frances (Lenny) and René. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and their families, and by his many extended family members in Canada and Holland.
A private family Service of Remembrance will be held at Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, Ontario K0H 2H0 (613-386-7373). A Celebration of Tony’s Life for family and friends will be held at a later date, and will be announced. For those desiring, please consider a memorial donation towards Cancer Research.
