Anthony Zimmerman June 12th 2022

Anthony passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 12th 2022. He was born in North Star, Alberta on Nov 24th 1932. He is survived by his children; Brian, Kerry, Kathie and Michael, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Anthony is predeceased by his wife Joyce of 64 years, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Anthony was a poet and song writer for over 25 years. Anthony and his wife played music with his band in the Kootenay Boundary region. He was a militia veteran and a member of the Irish Fusiliers based in Powell River, BC. Anthony was a community leader. He helped form and serve with the C.O.P.S in the Trail, BC area for over 20 Years. Anthony was also a 50-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with the arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Anthony’s honour to the Canadian Cancer Society 15-835 Spokane St, Trail, BC.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cameron, all the nurses at the Kiro Wellness Centre and Columbia View Lodge. A special thank you to Debbie Neville for her personal dedication and compassionate care to Anthony.
