Anthony Carmen Delaqua died peacefully at the age of 90 on Friday May 27, 2022, at his home with family by his side. He was born on February 4, 1932 and spent his whole life in Thunder Bay where he met the love of his life, Kay. They were married June 4, 1955 and spent over 64 loving years together. Tony spent his time golfing, bowling and visiting the casino with life-long friends. He was passionate about cooking and spending time with family. He was a loving husband, father, papa, and friend who will be greatly missed. Tony is remembered by his children Diane (David), Terry (Winona), Cheryl, Carol (Doug), and Rob (Nikki), his 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Phil, sisters Mary (Fred), Josie (Major) and brothers John and Dennis, and other family members and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sister Leila Greco who became Tony’s extended family and the Saint Joseph’s Care Group Palliative team and VON nurses who helped care for our dear Papa.
The Funeral Mass to celebrate Anthony’s life will be held at Saint Dominic’s Church on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11am with visitation with the family one hour prior to the service. Donations can be made to Saint Joseph’s Care Group, Palliative Care Unit or Sister Leila Greco, Life Enrichment Program.
