January 20, 1960 – June 19, 2022

Anthony (Buddy) Thomas Cipak, January 21, 1960-June 19, 2022
It is with profound shock and sadness that the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Anthony (Buddy) Thomas Cipak on Sunday June 19th, 2022, Cobequid Health Centre.
Buddy is predeceased by his parents, Agnes (Dawson) and Mike Cipak. Buddy leaves behind his loving wife and partner of 31 years, Marilyn (Hebert) Cipak, son Carson, 21 and daughter Georgia, 19. Raised in Whitney Pier, Sydney, Buddy was the youngest boy of a large Cape Breton Family. His family includes siblings Ronnie (Patsy) Dawson; Michele (Brad) Skinner; Mickey (Debbie); Francine (Will) Naylor, Stevie (Ruth), and Rhoda (Roger) Tubrett. He married into the Hebert clan who loved him like one of their own including Mother and Father-in-Law, Judy and Norman Hebert, sisters and brothers in law, Kathy (Graham) Gardiner, Brian (Noreen); Mark (Eileen); Greg (Charlene); Wanda (Darren) Richard and Jeremy (Chrissy).
Buddy also leaves behind a multitude of loving and heartbroken nieces and nephews from Cape Breton, the Mainland and beyond. Few of them will ever forget the special bond, generous heart, and magic Tricks.
Buddy was a long-term employee at Farmer’s Dairy where he was known for his fun antics, dedication and pride in his job very well done. To the benefit of his friends and coworkers whom he cared about deeply, Buddy was a strong union member and a voice to be reconned with for safety and fairness at work and beyond.
Music and sports were passions of Bud’s. He shared this passion with countless close friends and family who will miss his stories of concerts, recaps of hockey, basketball, baseball or any sport really. He was a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do who sparred with the best of the Black Belts fearlessly. He was extremely good at tennis and loved the sport. A highlight for sure was a trip that Bud and Marilyn took to the US Open.
Bud was loved for jokes and enjoyed fireside gatherings with family and friends or gathering in his sister’s house or at home playing games and listening to music.
But above all, Bud loved family, he adored his wife Marilyn and the sun rose and set on his pride and joy, Carson and Georgia. He never missed a basketball, or soccer game, a play or concert or the many band recitals. He worked hard to support his family and his love is not gone only changed.
We miss him already, but our faith will guide us to see him again.
