December 18, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta
Anne Stilling, of Edmonton, AB, passed away peacefully in Calgary on December 18, 2022 at age 91.
She was born in Moose Jaw, SK, on March 18, 1931. She lived there with her family until moving to Nelson, BC, in 1947, where she completed high school. While in Nelson, she met and married Harry Stilling in 1952. They had five children and had been married 53 years at the time of Harry’s passing.
Anne dedicated many years of her life to the field of retail sales. She had a passion for reading and was a skilled seamstress and upholsterer. She was also known for her culinary talents, often delighting her family with delicious meals and desserts. Anne was her family’s greatest cheerleader, supporting them in their education, arts, and sporting activities with kindness and generosity. She was the epitome of a mother and grandmother, always there for her family, loved by all, and will be greatly missed.
Anne was predeceased by her husband Harry in 2005, parents, Steve and Mary Hecker; siblings, Mary (Ben) Hunter, John (Helen) Hecker, Lydia (Kim) Maher, and Terry Panton; and her grandson Curtis Stilling. She is survived by her sister Betty Panton, children, Lee (Lorraine Thorne) Stilling, Ron Stilling, Maureen (Areero) Jatani, John (Susan) Stilling, and Gary (Kim) Stilling; her grandchildren, Carlyn Stilling (David Macdonald), Erik Stilling, Joan Stilling (Patrick McGillivray), Janice Stilling (Nelson Alves), Meleka (Seamus) Mastre, Liban Jatani (Janelle Lamoureux), Tarri Jatani, Michael Stilling (Olivia MacDonald), Brian Stilling, Cassidy Stilling, and Brooke Stilling; and great-grandchildren, Willa McGillivray, Miguel and Leonel Alves, Mila and Kira Mastre, and Rhys Jatani.
The family would like to express immense gratitude for the exceptional love and care Anne received while living at AgeCare Glenmore in Calgary over the past five years, with special thanks to her caregivers in the Bayview neighbourhood.
