Obituary of Annie Auch

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Auch at the Menno Home, Grunthal, MB, at the age of 89.
She leaves to mourn her step-grandchildren Dwayne (Brenda) Auch, Tim (Anita) Auch, Barbara (Aldon) Auch, step-great-grandchildren Cody (Brook) Auch, Colten Auch, Alyssa Chmiel, Zachery Chmiel, brother Paul (Carol) Wiebe and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Ed, stepson Larry and wife Eloise Auch. Sisters Margaret, Annie, Helen and Martha.
Anne grew up on a farm west of Steinbach, where she would reminisce how she and her sisters would sing while they did chores and played. As she grew to a young adult and ventured into the field of nursing, where she later met her husband Ed. Leaving the hospital she continued her nursing career at the elementary school neighbouring her and Ed’s home in Steinbach, where she also supplied many kids with knitted toques, mitts and scarfs. She and Ed would enjoy day trips to Sandilands, Falcon Lake, St. Malo and many other places, one of them being her sister Helen’s place in Kola, where they would enjoy BBQ food and nature. Anne was a great seamstress and would often be asked to have items sewn for people, but would not limit herself to be asked. She often made beautiful jean blankets and quilted blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other family members. When visiting Anne, she would always show her hospitality by having fresh made coffee along with homemade buns and dessert at the ready. While visiting, Anne would also enjoy playing card games and sharing her faith with the family.
