HUMPHREYS, Anne Urie – Formerly of Simcoe, Anne died peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice in Hamilton. She was 91 years of age. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Robert “Bob” Humphreys. She was the mother of Elizabeth Williamson (Peter) of London; Jane Matheson (Alex) of Mount Hope; Robert Humphreys (Wendy) of Scarborough and John Humphreys (Ingrid) of Garden Hill. Grandmother of Kate (Ryan); Jennifer (Easher); Matthew (Emily); Gillian (Mike); Steven (Charlotte); Jeff (Tina); Deanna; Laura (Jamie) and Christopher (Samantha). Great Grandmother of Addison, Sam, Annie, Rose, Liam and one on the way! Anne was the eldest daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Pringle of Glasgow, Scotland. She was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad on February 17th, 1930. She married Bob in Trinidad on August 29, 1953 and they moved to Canada in 1956 with their two daughters. They lived in Streetsville from 1957-1975 during which time their two sons were born at the Mississauga Hospital. They moved to Simcoe in 1975. Anne leaves two sisters in Great Britain: Netta Eyles of Westcliff-on-Sea, England and Joan Robertson of Kelso, Scotland. Anne was an active member of the A.C.W. at Trinity Anglican Church. Anne’s family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Bob Kemp Hospice for their care and many kindnesses to their mother during her final days. Cremation has taken place. A private funeral followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery will be held in the spring.
