Anne was born June 23, 1951 and grew up on the west coast of Vancouver Island in Pachena Bay and Bamfield and then Port Alberni. She was mainly a mother and grandmother but she did many other things in the course of her life. She was a carhop, a beer slinger, a short order cook and server, a hairdresser and barber, a retail sales clerk , a crocheter and a scrapbooker.
Her mother was indigenous and Anne was a citizen and elder of Huu-ay-aht First Nations and took a keen interest in band matters. Living in Victoria meant limited contact with relatives and friends from home but the band was very good at making her feel connected.
Anne was predeceased by her mother Mary Johnson and her father Roland(Jimmy) Frenette. She is survived by her brother Robb, her husband Dayrle, her children Shayne(Tanya) and Sherri(Sean), her grandchildren Jessica, Kayla(Gavin), Sadie, Sophia, Roland, Issac, Isaiah and great grandchildren Ember and Milo.
We found this prayer to God that Anne wrote dated Nov 3, 2004, 9:00 am; “I pray that my heart is right, that I do truly love you and that I will go to be with you.” And on January 8, 2022 we believe with all our hearts that she did go to be with Him.
