Obituary
The family of Anne Gazo is saddened to announce her passing on Friday, October 21, 2022 at the age of 91.
She died peacefully at Foyer St-Jacques , Embrun, Ontario. She was a loving sister to Mike, Sophie, Marie (Angelo). She was Pre-deceased by her parents Peter and Jozefina Gazo and brother Joseph.
She will be dearly missed by her 4 nieces: Susan (Rueben) Lilianne (Jocelyn), Sonya, Jennifer (Rob), and 4 nephews: Michael, Tom, Steve (Lucie), Marco, and 2 great grand nieces: Samantha and Alexandra, and 4 great grand nephews: Jonathan, Alexandre, Andrew, Nicholas, and great great grand nephews: Elias and Ezekiel.
Anne has touched the heart of many people. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and love for her family and will be immensely missed by all.
She was born in Slovakia and immigrated with her parents and siblings to Canada at a young age. They settled in Ste-Sophie, Quebec where she spent most of her childhood. She then moved to Montreal where she worked as an Overseas Telephone Operator at Bell Canada. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, needlepoint, cooking and baking.
The family wishes to express their gratitude and a special thanks to the staff of Foyer St-Jacques in Embrun, Ontario who provided such diligent care and comfort to Anne during her stay and especially in her final days.
A private family service will be held in Ottawa.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations on Anne’s behalf to the Canadian Alzheimer Association.
