Anne Barton
April 3, 1947 – April 11, 2022
It is with great sadness and treasured memories that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother and grandmother having courageously faced a short but serious illness. Anne Mary (Hickey) Barton passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on April 11, 2022, at the age of 75.
She is being welcomed into the gates of heaven by her parents: Martin and Margaret Hickey, parents-in-law: Arthur and Phillipa Barton, brother: Thomas Hickey; sister: Eileen Mckay; brothers-in-law: Ronald Barton and Graham Barton; sisters-in-law: Sue (Alan) Boon, Hazel (Mike) Dixon, Pat Wilhelmy, and Jennifer Phillips.
She leaves to mourn with broken hearts her beloved husband Jeffrey Barton, her children Louise (Nathan) and Christopher (Jenna) and her precious grandchildren Samuel and Ellie, brothers: Mike (Jenny), Dave (Lorraine), Jack (Faye), Brian (Joan), Bert (Brenda); Sisters: Catherine (Lloyd), Mary (John), Maureen (Gary), brothers-in-law Eddy Mckay, Brian Wilhelmy, Derek Phillips; Sister-in-law Shirley Barton; cousin Kay Boland, her very best friends Noreen Press, Helen Feehan, Lorraine Cole, Irene O’Brian, Anne Clift, Donna Marie Kelly, Mary Skinner and many more; as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and members of the Concert Crowd.
A special thank you to her home care workers: Anna, Amber, Jennifer, Chandy and Mehdi and the medical staff who helped in numerous ways, Dr. Susan MacDonald, Nurse Sarah McCarthy, Nurse Pam Hunt, and all the members of the Palliative Care Paramedic Team, especially Michelle, Leslie and Jennifer. We would also like to thank family members Dr. Rebecca Powell, Dr. Joanne Hickey, and Dr. Cindy-Lynn Gillis for their support and advice.
The family would also like to express our appreciation for all the help and support we have been shown over the past 3 months. For the numerous meals, cards, flowers, visits, prayers and phone calls we have received, your love and care has been truly overwhelming and we cannot say thank you enough.
Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 12 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Outer Cove. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made payable to the Concert Crowd Legacy Fund, c/o Rhonda Bridger, 50 Red Cliff Road, Logy Bay, NL, A1K3G2 or the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada.
