Obituary of Ann de Roos
On Friday, Sep 23, the Lord called home, his beloved daughter Attje/Ann de Roos (nee Draaistra) in her 89th year. Loved wife of Johannes/John de Roos (1993) and eldest daughter of Thomas and Renske Draaistra. Cherished mother, bringing much joy, to Walter, Renetta (2018), Greta, Thomas and Theresa de Roos. Much loved grandmother to Justin, Chelsey and Justin and Mathew de Roos; Thomas and Rochelle, James and Catherine, Jacob and Sarah and Joshua Martin; and to Brycen de Roos. Every night in her prayers, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren Svetlana, Jackson, Scarlett and Benjamin were all lovingly named. As well as being predeceased by many loved family members, she leaves behind precious brothers (in-laws) and sisters (in-laws), nieces and nephews.
Everywhere Ann went she made lifelong friends and considered her neighbours a part of her extended family. She loved and was loved and will be missed by many. A huge thank you to her Doctors, the care team at Hamilton General and visiting PSW’s, particularly Melanie, Ruth, Alisha and Kayla. Visitation will be Monday, Sep 26 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Donald V Brown Funeral Home (36 Lake Avenue Dr., Stoney Creek); following a private immediate family interment, there will be a Service of Remembrance at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church (290 Main St. E., Grimsby) on Tuesday, Sep 27 at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Shalom Manor, Diabetes Canada or charity of choice would be appreciated. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ann
