Anna was born on “a beautiful day in July” in Edmonton, Alberta to Rachel & Lucien Lavoie.
Throughout her life she moved around Alberta; Edmonton, Mountain Park, Mercoal, Robb, Wolf Creek, Hornbeck, Jasper, Marlboro and Edson.
As a young girl she enjoyed playing games, going on picnics, visiting and laughing with her siblings & cousins.
She loved dancing and singing while her dad played the violin.
Anna’s first language was French later learning English in school.
Anna kept active by walking, hiking mountains, biking, dancing, yoga, cross-country skiing, swimming, floor curling, participating in marathons and even climbed the Sydney Bridge in Australia. She loved being in nature and close to the mountains.
She will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening, baking, crocheting, knitting, sewing quilts and clothes, playing the organ and doing a multitude of puzzles and games.
Anna was a devoted Christian, attending the Edson Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She took numerous religious courses and Liturgical studies in Edmonton & St. Albert. Her rosary was always close at hand.
Anna loved to travel whether she travelled on behalf of the church (CWL) or with her family going to many places throughout Canada, United States, Australia, Europe, Greece and Israel.
Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. “Babies are such a precious gift from God” she’d say. Anna was always in the stands or on the sidelines cheering them on. Following them anywhere to attend games, performances and lessons. She loved to spend time with the children. She was very proud of them and of all their accomplishments.
Anna is predeceased by her parents, Rachel & Lucien Lavoie and Sister, Bernadette Bosch.
The family would like to thank Dr Smith and all of the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Edson Healthcare Centre for the excellent care and compassion.
