It is with great sadness that I, Loretta Caramelli, announce the passing of my mother, Anna Caramelli (née Bracaccia), on June 25th, 2022, at the age of 88.
Beloved wife for 67 years of the late Carlo Caramelli, cherished mother of Loretta (Vincent) and Riccardo (Karen) and devoted grandmother of Alexander. She will be deeply missed by all of us, including her family in Italy and her friends.
My mother was born in Tivoli (Rome), Italy, where she grew up with loving parents and four siblings. She met my father at Marina di Grosseto, a resort in Tuscany, Italy, in my father’s hometown. After their marriage, my parents’ journey started in Rome for one year, and continued to London, England for four years, Calgary, Alberta for seven years, a return to Rome for four years, before finally settling in Montreal.
She loved children, and her life revolved around her children and grandchild. Mother lived for us and for her husband. She was a very kind, sweet person, and wherever she went, the neighbourhood children and pets would follow.
Mother was a fabulous cook of Italian fine cuisine and in addition to our daily meals, she offered us fabulous family dinners, as well as Holiday and birthday celebrations.
Mother directed her creativity toward knitting, crocheting, and sewing; I have many beautiful hand-made items to remember her by. She was also passionate about her carefully manicured flower gardens and her meticulously maintained house, where everything was superbly kept.
A beautiful person, surrounded by friends and family, she loved going to church and being part of the community in St. Bruno, Quebec, where she lived for 50 years.
Distinguished and elegant, Mother was respected by all who knew her, just as she respected and cherished everyone she knew. She was selfless and was always ready to help others.
Mother lost the love of her life, my father, in April 2020. They were a beautiful couple, who loved each other dearly. They are now together, once again.
The family will receive condolences on Sunday, September 25th, 2022 from 1:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m at Yves Légaré funeral home located in Longueuil.
A celebration of life will be held the same day at 3:00 pm in the visitation room.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Lakeshore General Hospital for their wonderful support and care.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Lakeshore General Hospital would be appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Anna Caramelli Nee Bracaccia 19342022..
