1948-2022
Catherine Ann (MacDonald) Stewart, passed away peacefully at
the Aberdeen Hospital on September 18, 2022.
Ann was a very caring person and felt most at home
entertaining friends and family at her cottage at Eight Island Lake,
Guysborough Co. She loved Red Rose tea and her cat, Macy. Ann worked
in the parts department at Canadian Tire in New Glasgow for more than
32 years and retired in 2007 due to illness.
Ann was born April 24, 1948, to the late John George and
Margaret Isabel (Crockett) MacDonald
(Priestville).
Left to mourn are her husband, Steven, Trenton; son, Steven,
Halifax; granddaughter, Sharon (Stefan) Fancey and
great-grandchildren, Skyla and Shea, MacLellan’s Brook;
brother, John (Virginia) MacDonald, Priestville; sisters, Patricia
(Doug) Kenney, Trenton; Sharon (Calvin) DeYoung, Linacy;
brothers-in-law, Joe Pettipas, Toronto; Doug (Eileen) Stewart, New
Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Pearl (Mel) Oliver, New Glasgow; Donelda
Bezanson, Westville; Donelda Stewart, Stellarton; Tracey (Darren)
Blackadar, Hillside; Tanya Wilson, Trenton; Edna Stewart, New Glasgow;
and Macy.
Ann was predeceased by son, John Shaw and brothers-in-law,
Morris Stewart, Clarence Stewart, Henry Stewart and Donald
Bezanson.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday, in the R.H. Porter
Funeral Home, 73 High Street, Trenton. Funeral 2:30 pm Thursday, in
First United Church, 81 High St., Trenton, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson
officiating. Masks are recommended for all attending the visitation
and funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen Hospital, Pictou County VON or a
charity of your choice.
