Ann Lillian Hicks
October 8, 1943 – May 9, 2022

Ann Hicks – Age 78 of Halifax, passed away Monday May 9, 2022 at Northwood Halifax Campus. Born in Glace Bay, Ann was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Forbes) Hudson. Ann lived in Alberta and British Columbia before finally settling in Nova Scotia, the province she loved – especially Cape Breton. A true artist, Ann was gifted with a beautiful singing voice and was an active member of the St. James United Church choir for many years. She was also a talented rug hooker and had many friends within that community. Ann was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter #61 Dartmouth. Ann held senior administrative positions with the government and in the legal field, including a stint at McInnes Cooper. Her sense of humour, wit and way with words will be sorely missed by her friends and family. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer MacDonald; her son-in-law, Philip Aviado; her sister, Linda Hill; her niece, Emily Hill; and her nephew, Timothy Hill. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter. Thank you to the staff at Northwood for their compassionate care. Scattering of the ashes will be done at a later date. Memorial donations are appreciated and may be made to a charity of your choice.
