Ann Dobson 1933 2022

Noel-Anne “Ann” Dobson (Leblanc), beloved wife of
the late Lloyd Dobson passed away on August 18, 2022, at the
Westford Nursing Home in Port Elgin following a lengthy illness. She
was 88 years old. Ann was born in Dorchester NB on Christmas Day in
1933, daughter of the late Herve and Alexina
LeBlanc.
She graduated from high school in Cap Pele in 1950 and took a
teaching position in Shemogue where she met her husband.
They were married in 1954 and lived many happy years on the Dobson
farm where they raised their family. When she returned to
teaching, she accepted a position in Murray Corner and later at the
Port Elgin Elementary School where she taught until she retired in
1993. Ann taught school while attending the University of
Moncton where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976.
Through the years Ann touched the lives of many of her
students, who remember her fondly.
Ann loved her garden and spent every summer weeding and
harvesting its yield. She was an excellent cook, and her homemade
pickles and crab apple jelly were family favorites. She loved to
crochet, especially lace tablecloths, and she was an avid
reader. Ann suffered a stroke in 2009 which made her
dependent on nursing home care until the time of her passing. However
even in the nursing home, she kept up with current events, read daily
and made many friendships with staff and other
residents.
Ann is survived by her son Gary Dobson and his wife Susan of
Fredericton, her daughter Daphna Harris and her husband George of
Mechanic Falls, Maine, her eight grandchildren: Kathryn Mix and her
husband Adam of Fredericton, Thomas Dobson and his wife Donna of
Fredericton, Alexander Harris and his wife Ashley of Maine,
Christopher Harris and his girlfriend Jesse Levesque of Maine, Kayla
Logie and her husband Devon of Maine, Lucas Dobson of Moncton, Ryan
Dobson and his fiancée Shania Chevarie of Alberta and Logan
Dobson of Alberta; her three great-grandchildren: Jackson Mix, Liam
Mix, and Venessa Harris, her brother Joseph Fernand LeBlanc and his
wife Jeannine of Ottawa, Ontario, and her sisters: Yolande Mitchel of
Fredericton and Rachel LeBlanc and her partner Rejean Denis of St.
Ubalde Quebec, her late son Barry’s partner
Monique LeBlanc of Moncton, several nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.
She is predeceased by her husband Lloyd, her son
Barry Dobson and infant son David Dobson, her brother Jean Paul
LeBlanc and her sister Theresa Ayer.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to
the staff of The Westford Nursing Home for years of providing love and
excellent care to Ann.

  1. Thinking of you at this time
    Sincerely

Comforting Father, even with our faith, we still grieve. Though grieving is natural,
we try to avoid it. Walk with us, we pray, as we adapt to this fundamental shift
in our lives. Comfort us in our sorrow and strengthen us as we go through
these dark days. We pray that our loved ones, through your grace, will be at peace
with you in your heavenly kingdom. A M E N
