It is with deepest sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Anita May Gibbs on Monday, Jan 10, 2022, at Oakview Nursing Home at 88 years of age.
Anita was predeceased by her loving husband Wilbert; parents Anne & John Sydney; sisters Dorothy, Ruth, Joanne and Judy; brothers John and Ron. She is lovingly remembered by her children Kim and Glen, grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anita was born on May 26, 1933 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Anita met the love of her life, Bert, when she was just 15 years old. She knew the moment she saw him they were destined for each other.
Comical, delightful, witty, and dynamic, Anita loved her family, homemaking, gardening, cooking and baking; cross-stitching, crocheting; yard sales, thrift stores; camping, fishing; talking to relatives and friends on the phone and traveling (having been to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Las Vegas, Minnesota, Quebec, Ontario and all over Manitoba).
Anita was laid to rest by her children at a graveside service at Brookside Cemetery near numerous other relatives.
A warm thank you goes out to Oakview Nursing home for the care and compassion given to Anita during the final years of her life.
