Angus G. McDonald of Moncton passed away at The Moncton
Hospital, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Born December 4, 1925, in
Brandon, MB, he was the son of Angus K. and Hazel (Alguire) McDonald.
Angus attended Brandon Collegiate and later attained his
Business Management certificate from the Angus School of Commerce, in
Winnipeg.
Angus enlisted in the Canadian Army in April of
1942, retiring Jan., 1968 with rank of Major, having served in both
Regular and Militia forces. In civilian life Angus worked mostly in
the Men’s Clothing industry, retiring from Tip Top Tailors, in Red
Deer, Alta., in 1991, where he managed stores in various locations
from Vancouver to Halifax. Angus was a Mason since 1952 and a Shriner
since 1960. As a hobby Angus was an amateur radio operator and
examiner. He was a member of the Central Alberta Radio League, member
of the Tri County Amateur Radio Club and Moncton Area Amateur Radio
Club. He was a member of St. James Anglican Church.
Angus
was predeceased by his wife, Gloria; father, Angus; mother, Hazel;
sister, Mary and his the last surviving member of his immediate
family. He is survived by his special friend Barbara Tait.
In keeping with Angus’ wishes, there will be no visitation. A
memorial service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 101
Fairview Dr. Moncton on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 am with The
Wendy Amos-Binks officiating. There will be a reception to follow.
Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.
Donations in Angus’s memory made to the transportation fund of
the Shriners Children’s Hospital, Friends of the Moncton Hospital, or
to the charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
