“When white wings of death scatter your days, I am in the silent memory”
-On Marriage by Kahlil Gibran, as sampled in Jesse’s song “Cartesian Eye” soundcloud.com/user-715562261/cartesian-eye?in=user-715562261/sets/scandia
Jesse Anger passed through and beyond our earthly realm on July 30th, 2022.
Jesse is the father of Aryeh, partner of Ryleigh Popjes, son of Paul Anger and Kelly Bosak, brother of Jordon Anger, Morgan Anger, and Jocelyn Vallee.
To name all those left behind who love and cherish him would be to write a modern day phonebook, spanning far and wide across all borders. So instead, we will simply say that Jesse’s reach knew no bounds and he will be fondly remembered and revered by all who had the honour of knowing him. Be it for hours, or since his first breath.
Jesse was a witch, a magician. A refined yet grimy poet, a musician, a sportsman, a photographer, and an all around alien. His art and gift of gab superseded the norm and allowed him to access degrees of human and spiritual connection beyond what most could imagine is possible. His magic flows freely through him and has impacted this realm on an otherworldly level.
He was a lover of cemeteries, alleyways, storms, and strange neon signs. He saw the beauty in the underbelly, the light that comes from suffering. Through his art he captured subtle moments we see each day and gave them new life. To take a walk with him was to hear wisdom like scripture in his casually genius way. To stop 13 times in 2 blocks to capture just the right (or precisely wrong) angle of a dove flying through garbage bins, or a piece of graffiti etched out by time.
Jesse has been cremated in his magicked out black velvet cloak, dopest fit, and finest jewels. May we remember him as he walked, dripped out in his alien style.
On August 20th, 2022 we will gather in his hometown of Dunnville to celebrate and send off our dearest Jesse.
Friends are welcome to join us at Centennial Park – by the giant statue of Muddy – (98 Robinson Rd #2, Dunnville, ON N1A 2W1) at 2:30 for a time of public celebration and assembly. Come ready to honour the joy of knowing Jess, and the pain of not having him physically with us.
For those reading this from far and wide – stay tuned on social media for details on gatherings in Toronto and his beloved home of Montreal. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
