ln loving memory of Angelo Lecce who passed away June 26, 2022 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of 60 years to Giuseppina (Pinuccia/JosephineiJosie) neeGiobbe. Loving father of Mary-Grace (Jamie Boucher), Franco (Lori Ferguson). Cherished Nonno of Brennan Boucher, Riley Boucher and Bailey Ferguson. Dear son of Raffaele and Antonia (Palombo) both predeceased. Dear brother to Rosina (Rosa)Riggi and brother-in-law Felice (both predeceased). Brother-in-law to Mario (Rina)Giobbe (predeceased), Romana Velcich (Georgio) predeceased. Loving Zio to LinaPetridis (Bill Mclees), Toni (Linda) Riggi, Mario (Daniella) Riggi and Paul (Teresa)Riggi. He also leaves behind many more nieces, nephews and relatives throughout
Canada, the United States, ltaly and Belgium. Born in Posta Fibreno, Frosinone, ltaly in 1929 he immigrated to Canada in 1951 , leading the way for his family to join him. ln order to come to Canada, he had to cross the Alps into France in order to obtain a VISA and bride some guards along the way. He was a pioneer in many ways. Arriving in Canada looking for work he lived for a short time in Hailfax, Mattawa, Montreal then arriving in Sudbury where he eventually set up roots. ln 1956 he went to Radio College in order to find employment. He worked at Sudbury TV and Electronics for 30 years making a lasting friendship with his employer, Jack Rumball and family. Dad was a quiet, humble man whose main concern was his family and providing for them. He was a gentle soul. He was an avid gardener and his garden produced an abundance of vegetables which he would share with family and friends. ln his younger years he would spend his time fishing, blueberry picking and looking for mushrooms. He will be immensely missed and there is a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved him. We would like to thank Dr. DeBlacam, Dr. Pierce, nursing and healthcare staff on the 6th floor South Tower at Health Sciences North for their care and compassion towards Angelo. We would also like to thank Gerry Lougheed and Father Pat Woods for their assistance.
Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Friends may call 2-4; 6-8 PM Wednesday and after 10AM Thursday. Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at 11AM. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
