We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Angela D’Amico on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the age of 87 years after a long struggle with dementia. Beloved wife of the late Quirico D’Amico (2021) for 64 years. Angela was a resident at Idlewyld Manor Long Term Care facility. The family would like to thank the staff of Idlewyld for the care and compassion they provided mom during her many years in the home. Angela was born in Carovigno, Italy on April 11, 1935, and immigrated to Canada in 1964 with her husband and twin children to find a better life. Mom worked hard throughout her life to help provide for her family. She could be frequently found in the kitchen preparing food and she loved to sing and spend time in her garden tending her roses. Angela enjoyed traveling whether it was to visit family overseas or to enjoy a relaxing time on the beach in Cuba. She leaves behind her loving children Peter D’Amico (Debbie) and Rose Linton (Douglas). Her legacy will live on in her grandchildren Lisa Sholer (Christopher), Christina Linton, Heather Stribbell (Steven), Jennifer Hellinga (Alex), Matthew D’Amico (Denise) and great grandchildren Evelyn and Juliette Sholer, Logan and Norah Stribbell, and Matteo and Luca D’Amico. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Maria D’Amico (Francesco, deceased) and nephews Peter and Ryco D’Amico and their families here in Canada as well as many relatives in Italy and England. Mom/Nonna, we will miss you greatly but will treasure our memories of you. Sempre Nei Nostri Cuori (Forever in our hearts). A private family service was held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, Hamilton.
