It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Andy Melko at the age of 82. Predeceased by his loving wife Shirley and dear parents, Mike and Mary Melko. Late in-laws, Len Rolfe Senior, Laura Leger. Cherished father to Terry (Brenda) Michelle (Don). Grandfather to Kyle (Courtney), Kory, Justin (Lindsay). Great grand-father to Jordyn and Morgan. Brother to John (Joan) Melko Late. Betty (Gus) Oberski. Brother-in-law to Len (Anita) Rolfe, Ed (Deb) Rolfe, Late Gary Rolfe, Late Colleen Rolfe. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Andy was born in Timmins, Ontario and worked as an accountant. Andy has been reunited with the love of his life Shirley. His love for sports included a provincial championship for hardball with Mahoney Park as well a city championship with the Junior Delta Colts in which he was the quarterback. He also liked to curl. Andy continued his passion for sports by coaching police minor hardball with his brother John at Eastwood Park as well as managing a few minor hockey teams. Dad along with mom regularly attended many sporting events for their children and grandchildren. Dad and mom’s passion for sports included many years of season tickets for their beloved Ticats as well as games watching the Blue Jays. They also enjoyed many years of travelling to Vegas, camping or just enjoying the movies or the racetrack together. Funeral Visitation will take place on Friday, May 20th from 11 – 1 p.m. at PX Dermody Funeral Home (1919 King St. E) followed by a Chapel Service at 1 p.m., proceeding with Interment at Holy Sepulchre. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated.
