Andrew “Lorne” Foley
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lorne on November 10, 2022.
Lorne is predeceased by his parents Andy and Adeline Foley and his sister Judy. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Mary, his daughters Sharon (Mark), Tamara (Ryan), grandchildren Mason, Seamus, and Melea; siblings Adele (Keith), Pat, Mike, Colleen (Colvin), Brian, Dolly (Darcy), Dan (Sandy); many nieces and nephews who he was very fond of, as well as the numerous friends he made along the way.
Lorne was born on May 27, 1949 in Victoria BC, and grew up in the Happy Valley area. He was in the navy for a few years before leaving to start a family and eventually moved them to Duncan. He retired after 37 years of working at the Crofton Pulp Mill as a Millwright. During that time Mary & Lorne married and eventually moved to Ladysmith where they enjoyed the latter part of their years together.
Lorne was well known for his love of baseball, camping, playing crib, watching Nascar, family time, fishing, telling corny dad jokes, two good fingers of rum and all things Christmas, especially Santa.
His huge heart, his willingness to help everyone and his silly sense of humour will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Lorne’s life will be held:
