November 10, 2022
Andrew (Butch) Grunda, 81, passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 2, 2022. Born and raised in Hamilton, he was a proud employee of International Harvester and JICase for 40 years. Andrew is survived by the love of his life, Jean (McCracken) and will be fondly remembered by his daughter, Cynthia (Patrick); sons, Andrew (Samantha), Dave (Mary); and granddaughters, Velia and Tessa. Predeceased by his loving mother, Vera. Dear brother of Alice (Albert, predeceased),John (Josie) and Judy (Fred).
Known for his charm and sense of humour, he will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbours. Andy easily made friends wherever he went by engaging in thoughtful conversations, empathetic listening and sharing stories of the good ol’ days. He enjoyed taking long drives, admiring the scenery, and going for ice cream with his wife and dog, Banjo.
Family and friends will be received at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON (905-527-0405)on Tuesday November 8 from 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. A private interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we would encourage acts of kindness for your neighbours, just as Andy always did.
