Obituary
Born July 12, 1996, passed away May 16, 2022 at Toronto General Hospital after a courageous five year struggle with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
Cherished son of Jeff and Susan. Much loved brother and best friend of Matthew and Rachel. Precious grandson of Liz Stobo (the late Don) and Ray Pennington, and the late Molly and Ronald Barfoot. Family was everything to Andrew and he will be forever in the hearts of his aunts, uncles and cousins; Cheryl Barfoot, Chris and Erika Barfoot, Emily, Sarah, (the late Sam Barfoot), Kathy Cook and Mark Ducharme, Brad Warren and Bella Rozintseva, Natalie Warren, Linda Stobo and Sandy Anderson.
Proud Grey County Paramedic and aspiring real estate agent with Sutton Sound Realty. Andrew loved lacrosse and when he could no longer play, he stepped behind the bench to coach and mentor young North Stars. Andrew’s generous heart was evident in his volunteer work at First United Church, OSHaRE and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Andrew was a driven, goal oriented perfectionist who strived to be better everyday. He never backed down from a challenge or let his illness define him. He lived life to the fullest. Andrew was our warrior. We will take the lessons learned from his journey to make our lives better. Rest in peace, we love you.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on May 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Masks are required to attend. A funeral service to celebrate Andrew’s life will be held at First United Church, 435 21st St. W., Owen Sound, on May 20th at 1 p.m. with Rev. Kathy Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound. Due to covid restrictions there are capacity limits in the church, and physical distancing and masks are required. A video recording of Andrew’s funeral service will be posted to the tribute wall of his online memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
