Andrew David Axford of Cole Harbour passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital on January 13, 2022 at the age of 62.
Andy is survived by his parents Joan and Ivor; his brothers, Steve (Donna) and Darren (Wanda); his niece Leslie (Ali); and his nephews, Daniel (Hayley, daughter Isabel), Logan, and Spencer (Hannah).
Andy was born in Halifax, NS on March 24, 1959. He spent 41 years working at Dartmouth Adult Services Centre (DASC). Andy loved going to work to see his friends and the staff who took such great care of him. One of Andy’s greatest enjoyments was Wednesday afternoons at Alderney Landing picking up newspapers, watching the trains, and eating hamburgers with his family. Andy’s love of trains began when he attended Shearwater School where the train went by daily. Much thanks to the train engineers for the waving, toots and whistles, and the frequent invitation to have a closer look at the trains. Special thanks to friends, neighbours, and the staff at DASC and the Dartmouth General for their care and support.
Andy will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
God bless. We all loved you so much.
