Andrea White 2022

Andrea Maude Drummond White of Chesley, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on her 79th birthday, May 3rd 2022. Andrea was the much loved and loving sister of Rosemary Johnston of Barrie and Drummond White and his wife Norah (Love) of Whitby. Andrea will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephew, Katherine, Alison (Bill), Emily (Dan), Amanda (Brad), Devin (Allison), Lenore (Brandon) as well as her great nieces and nephews Paige, Sarah, Henry, Emmett, Hudson, Wilton, Arya, Maisie, Ophelia, Ezra and Miles. Andrea was predeceased by her beloved John Van Roode, and her parents Drummond and Mary (Perrin) White.
Andrea found fulfillment as a social worker first in Montreal then Toronto and later in Grey Bruce County, a region that she fell in love with and called home. Chesley and the surrounding area captured her heart with its open spaces, history to explore and even a river, or two, to drop a line and fish for a few hours. Andrea enjoyed the company of her close friends or time alone in a canoe, never turned down a card game or a puzzle she couldn’t solve or a mystery that didn’t need to be read. Known to her family as Abby or Tante she was always ready for an adventure, a story or simply a hug.
Andrea was deeply religious and grounded in her bible study and church community. She will be dearly missed by her many close friends and her church family at Hanover Mennonite Church.
A memorial service honouring Andrea’s life will be held in the coming weeks at Hanover Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hanover Mennonite Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Andrea White 2022..

  1. Andrea was a good friend, always cheerful and full of energy, with lots of wisdom to pass on to others. We will miss her smile and encouragement and hugs. Ruth and Jim Martin from Hanover Mennonite Church

  2. Andrea was a dear friend. We met in the late 70’s when she was a special therapist for my children Kim and David following the break up of my marriage. We became friends and she was so full of life, laughter and always ready to take on any challenge. She supported me when I changed careers and helped with my children when we moved to Toronto where she was then living. I will miss her laughter and smiles and jokes!
