NOLF, Andre Roger
Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Eva Nolf for 65 years. Loving father of Brenda, Brian (Janet), David (Nathalie) and Jennifer (Richard). Predeceased by daughter Sandra. Proud grandfather of Stephanie, Matthew, Caroline, Lauren and Nicholas.
Andre or Andy as he was known to friends and family, emigrated with his family from Belgium in 1951 to Delhi, Ontario. Andy’s passion for sciences and learning saw him study chemistry at the University of Western Ontario and he graduated in 1966. It was at this time he started his successful career with Shell Canada where he worked for 28 years until he took early retirement in 1994. Andy used his early retirement as an opportunity to pursue his passion for vintage radios, which he continued through to his death.
Andy had many varied interests and hobbies including travel, animal welfare, history, and learning languages (Japanese was the trickiest). Most of all Andy will be remembered and missed by his family and friends for his kindness, generosity and his willingness to help out no matter the situation.
Thanks to the staff at Joseph Brant Hospital for their kindness and care. In keeping with Andy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on February 24, 2022 at 1 p.m. In accordance with provincial regulations, there is a limit to the number of visitors who may attend at one time.
