Herman, Amanda
Passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 after a brief illness in her 40th year at Quinte Health Centre in Belleville. Daughter of Lynn Herman (nee Smith) and the late Richard (Rick) Herman, sister of Tanya (Anthony). Amanda is survived by her many Aunts, Uncles, extended families and friends.
Growing up Amanda was one of the first children with special needs in the Toronto District School Board, graduating with honors in 2003 from Martin Grove Collegiate Institute. As a young child she was selected as ambassador for the fundraising campaign for the Hugh MacMillian Rehabilitation Centre (Bloorview MacMillian) while being ambassador she had the privilege of meeting her idol, Wendel Clark of the Toronto Maple Leaf’s and Country Music Hall of Fame Legend Don Williams. Amanda’s volunteerism continued throughout her life with several organizations.
After returning to Deseronto with her Mother, in 2018 Amanda was supporting by many community service agencies with a special thank you to the PSW’s Carolyn, Chana, Jenny, Jenn, Deb and Maria
The family would also like to thank the Lennox and Addington Paramedic Services, the ICU staff at L&A Hospital and Quinte Health Centre.
Family and friends will be received at M.J. Smith & Son Funeral Home on Monday, October 17, 2022 between the hours of 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Funeral Service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment in Deseronto Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, because of allergies, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy
