De Melo, Amanda Leanne ‘Nana’
May 1, 1990-October 26, 2022
With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Amanda, surrounded by her loving family at the Toronto General Hospital on Wednesday October 26, 2022, at the age of 32. Beloved fiancée of James Lavell, who was the love of her life. Cherished daughter of Bartolomeu and Ana (Cabral). Loving sister of Emily (Melanie Bradley) and Alyssa. Dearest aunt of Caiden, Noah, Elsie, Ethan, Callie, Isaac, and baby Bradley to be. Loving granddaughter of Fernanda and the late Jaime Cabral and the late Fernando and Maria De Melo. Amanda will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends, and Chandler.
A beautiful but short life lived by an even more beautiful woman. Amanda will always be remembered for the love she gave so freely to those who surrounded her. She lived her life with a strong will and determination. Most recently, Amanda successfully completed her goal of receiving her JD in Law at the University of Ottawa. Amanda could always be found with a book in her hand, dancing, or cuddling with her cat or the love of her life, James.
Amanda fought hard and you all helped her fight even harder. Words can never describe how our family feels about the community of doctors and nurses that helped care for her. Special thank you to the organ donor families who selflessly gave Amanda many more years as a beloved “Sista Nana”, daughter, Aunt/Tia, and fiancée.
Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. (near James) on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Vigil Prayers Sunday at 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 934 Highway 8, Stoney Creek. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make donations to the corporation that Amanda has always held near and dear to her heart, Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
