Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather, Alvin Earl Erdman. He will be lovingly remembered by his best friend and wife of 53 years, Sandra; sons Neal, Wayne (Sunshine) and Colin (Ashley); grandsons: Kayden and Chase; brother Lorne as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Alvin was sadly predeceased by his parents Alma and Alfred Erdman; sister Helen and brother Melvin.
Alvin was born in Smeaton, Sask. and came to BC as a young child with his parents, living in Kelowna, Copper Mountain and Britannia Beach. After high school, he began working at Britannia Mines. He worked there as a diamond driller, as well as in several other mines in western Canada. In 1974, Alivn and Sandra moved to Choiceland, Sask. to begin farming. As their family grew to include their three boys, so did their farmland, growing from the original quarter section to eight quarter sections by the time they came back to BC in 1986. Still loving the agricultural way of life, they then purchased an old orchard on Parsons Road. Over the next 36 years, the orchard was completely transformed into a modern viable orchard. Alvin worked hard all his life to provide the best life possible for his family. He always had time to lend a helping hand to a neighbor, a friend or anyone who needed it. He will be missed.
A graveside service will be held at Okanagan Falls Memorial Cemetery, Maple and 14th Ave., Okanagan Falls, on Wednesday, August 3 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at Alvin’s and Sandra’s home, 325 Parsons Road.
