Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we, her family, announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Allison Noelle Laughren (née Hamilton).
Allison came into the world on the Winter Solstice, December 21, 1971 in Winnipeg. She was born to Jack and Brenda Hamilton and was a baby sister for Elan. In 1972 she moved with her family to Saskatoon. Allison attended kindergarten in Saskatoon but received all of her primary and secondary education in Rosetown where the family moved in 1977. During her school years, Allison was involved with various sports including volleyball and badminton but was best known for her wonderful, naturally rich singing voice. She was heavily involved in the Rosetown Music Festival, winning many awards over the years including the “Most Promising Award” for a vocal artist on three occasions. She shared her talent with the wider world singing on Kinsmen Telemiracle on two occasions. Following graduation from Rosetown Central High School, Allison moved to Saskatoon where she worked at several jobs then moved back to Rosetown where she was hired by the Health Region. She advanced her career in health care when she moved to the Health Region in Yorkton. During this time, she was working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources with Athabasca College. While in Yorkton, Allison met and married Trevor Laughren. They were blessed with two beautiful children; Ethan and Emma. Shortly after, they moved to Martensville to be closer to family. Allison was immediately hired by Saskatoon Health Region in the Human Resources department. All this time she continued to work on her University Degree finally graduating with her degree. Having an autistic child, Allison became involved with Autism Services serving for several years on the board. Her children were always her primary focus in life, there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. Allison was an exceptional cook and was creative in so many ways. She also loved to travel and explored many parts of the globe including trips to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Allison is survived by her loving husband Trevor, her children Ethan and Emma, step-daughter Larissa St. Onge; her parents, Jack and Brenda Hamilton, sister Elan (Bruce) Kidd, Colton and Kylie; father-in-law Darrell (Tereasa) Laughren; sister-in-law Bobbi (Royan) Stewart and family Brayden (Kate) Nowakowski, Brooklyn Nowakowski, Dawson Nowakowski and Kaillie Stewart; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and her feline friends Mindy and Beau.
The family wishes to thank the addictions counselors and doctors in Saskatoon for their professional care and concern. Also thank you to Wendel, her close and deeply caring friend for his unselfish support.
