SIKMA: Allerdina “Diny”
Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Moira Place, Tweed on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in her 94th year. Born in Bailen, Holland on April 26, 1928 into a family of 11 children. Diny married her late husband Kormelis Sikma in 1951 and immigrated with their son Bouka (Bob) to Australia in 1955 where their sons Robert and Alfred were born. In 1963 the family came to Montreal, Canada, then to Labrador City, Newfoundland and retired in Corbyville, Ontario in 1986. Diny was a longtime member of Marantha Church. She sang in the choir, volunteered on many committees and enjoyed her church life. She was an active walker and belonged to many local fitness groups. Her family, friends and pets meant everything to her. She will be missed by many. A private service will be held at the McConnell Funeral Home, Tweed with interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Corbyville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
