Alice May Klassen (née Brooks) passed away on Thursday, November 10, at Langley Gardens. She is survived by her children Tim and Cynthia, and predeceased by her husband Orville Klassen, sisters Gen, Florence, and Bernice, and brothers Clyde, Arthur, Wesley, Lloyd, and Fred. Alice was born in Sturgis, Saskatchewan to Fred and Jennie Brooks. Her father was the town’s first postmaster and named it after the city in South Dakota. Alice loved sports and the outdoors, playing ice hockey with the boys’ team and competing in track and field growing up. She met Orville at Millar Bible College, and they married in 1957 before moving to Vancouver. They loved their adopted children Tim and Cynthia, and Alice was known for having an open home. She loved to bake and cook, and will be remembered for her cookies. She served and shared her faith at church, where she was known for being kind and gentle. Alice was always a prairie girl at heart, and will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends
