1932-2022
Alice Emily Long of Somerville passed away on Tuesday,
November 15, 2022 at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville.
She was born March 29, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Allison
and Erma Shaw. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband
Rev. James Long: sister, Margaret Monroe; brother, David Shaw;
sister-in-law, Ida Shaw; brother-in-law, Nick Granato.
Alice is survived by her children, Wanda (Robert) Gartley of
Jacksontown, Allan (Muriel) Long of Simonds, Billy (Wendy) Long of
Mount Delight, Connie (Gordon) Morrison of Quispamsis, Frank Long of
Avondale, Paul (Janet) Long of Hartland, John (Nancy) Long of
Somerville, Emily (Murray) Black of Wards Creek, Barbara (Neil) Craig
of Windsor, Gary (Christina) Long of Somerville, Shawn (Nancy) Long of
Jacksontown; 27 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 2 great great
grandchildren; siblings, Eleanor Shaw, Edward Shaw, Mary Granato, John
(Jean) Shaw, Annie Mae (Dennis) Tysick; sister-in-law, Dorothy Shaw;
brother-in-law, Bill Monroe; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the People’s Church,
2608 Route 103, Somerville, on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 4 to 7
p.m. The funeral service will be at the church on Saturday, November
19th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Heikkinen officiating. The
interment will be in the Simonds Cemetery. If so desired, donations to
Sandy Cove Bible Camp would be appreciated. Britton Funeral Home 2
High Street, Hartland is in charge of the arrangements.
