Read – The death
occurred at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday,
January 13, 2022, of Alexander “Balfour” Read, of
Summerside, aged 97 years. Born in Summerside, he was the son of the
late Bishop and Vera (Carruthers) Read; and step-son of the late Ada
Jane Stevenson. Survived by his children Paul (Gayle), Vera (Jerry)
Reno and Steven (Laura); 8 grandchildren; and by 13
great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Shirley Read; a sister
Emma Jane (David) Ingham; and by brothers Deane and Verne Read.
Resting at Moase Funeral Home, Summerside. A private family graveside
service will take place in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside at a later
date. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or a
charity of your choice would be
appreciated.
