It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of
Alex Joseph Flory of St. Albert on July 27, 2022, at the age of 33 years.
Alex will be lovingly remembered by his mom and dad, Reg and Ellen; sister, Karynn (Mike) Simmons; his most precious niece, Peyton; grandma, Carole Steiner; aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and his amazing crew of caregivers past and present.
Alex was predeceased by his grandfathers, Rodger Flory and William Steiner; grandmother, Lil Flory; and aunt, Michelle Flory.
Alex had the biggest smile that went along with his devious sense of humour. He was determined to live his life to the fullest and that included: living independently, taking post-secondary classes at McEwan University, bowling, swimming, yoga, outdoor walks with friends, using the track and gym equipment, travelling to visit his family in Saskatchewan, summer boating & BBQ’s with friends at the lake, shopping for some of the hundreds of t-shirts that filled his closet, and finding the perfect gifts for every occasion – leading to his 1st business, Alex’s Assistance.
During COVID he posted positive messages around the community, decorated trees on the Red Willow Trail, made posters for teachers, and helped start a campaign called #InItTogether with Gateway Association. This kick-started his 2nd business, Authenticity By Alex where he handmade greeting cards.
In his last few months, Alex embraced every adventure from Skiing at Sunshine, to kayaking in Pincher Creek, and even tried water skiing on a very cold day in June.
Celebration of Life to be held 2:00 p.m. at St. Albert Funeral Home, Connelly-McKinley Limited, 9 Muir Drive, St Albert, Alberta, T8N 1G1
