Obituary
It is with sadness I would like to announce the passing of my loving husband, Bert. He will be deeply missed by his dear wife, Ginny (Virginia).
Bert was born in Vancouver, BC to parents, Joe and Margaret.
He had fond memories of, at age 18, spending a year in the Yukon, working his way up and back on a paddle wheeler. Back in Vancouver he became a butcher and was in the trade for over 25 years. As well he worked in two window factories and a brush shop. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing pool, gardening and gambling. He was a great joke teller, a consummate gentleman, generous and very helpful.
Bert is predeceased by his sister, Doreen; sons, Mike and Rick; and his first wife.
He is survived by children, Margaret (Don), Allan (Julie), Susan (Kevin) and Brian (Kristi); 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Chester (Pat); two nephews and one niece.
Thanks to the caring staff at Westview Place North.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bert’s memory would be gladly accepted to the Alzheimer Society of BC at alzheimer.ca/bc.
