In his 89th year, Albert Edwin Dakin Jones (ED) passed away peacefully at his home in Burlington, Ontario with family by his side on January 21, 2022 from cancer. He is predeceased by his parents Daisy and Albert Jones of England, son Treffor and his wife, the love of his life Joyce: 7 years ago, this month. Ed is survived by his son Royce (Jenny), daughters Heather (Robert) and Glynnis (Philip), and his cherished siblings in England, Pauline and Royce. He was grandfather to Tyler, Henry, Jacob, Cordelie, Miranda and Keelan. In his younger years Ed was an avid boxer, awarded schoolboy champion and golden gloves. He then became a Royal Marine Commando (RMV11766) and after serving took on careers in Automotive Engineering and manufacturing companies, most notably GM, Ford and Bricklin. He always enjoyed reading, tinkering and traveling the world. He also had a rare and remarkable photogenic memory. In keeping with Ed’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no public service. He will join Joyce eternally at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Orangeville at a later date.
