Albert (Al) Zembik
January 23, 1932 – March 21, 2022
After a wonderful 90 years, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa peacefully passed away in Selkirk, Manitoba on March 21, 2022.
Dad is survived by his four sons Greg, Brad (Jean), Brian and Darren (Cheryll), four grandchildren Teigen (Jon), Colton (Melissa), Mika and Zoey, great-grandson Landen, Dad’s sister Anne from Sault St. Marie, his nieces Shelley (John), Sandra (Jim), Elaine (Bill), Gloria (Victor) and Dad’s great friend and companion Myrna who he travelled with and enjoyed life together since 1994.
Dad is predeceased by his mother Tillie, father John, numerous aunts and uncles, common-law Eunice.
Dad travelled all of Western Canada working as a salesman, at a gas company in Alberta and fighting wildfires in B.C. Coming back to Winnipeg to work at Salisbury House in a few locations as a manager. Then in 1957 was accepted to the Winnipeg Fire Department for 37 years of service, retiring in July 1993 as a District Chief.
Grandpa enjoyed watching all of Teigen and Colton’s sporting events. They will miss Grandpa’s kindness and stopping at his house to talk about birds, the fire department, to watch The Price is Right and to share what was happening in their lives that week.

As per Albert’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private service to be held at the gravesite at St. Clement’s Churchyard, St. Andrews at a later date when the grass is green, and flowers are in full bloom.
