Obituary of Mr. Alan Hogg
Alan Davis Hogg (MRAIC, ARIBA) age 93, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Birchmount Hospital, Scarborough after a short illness. Alan, one of four children to Alfred and Olive Hogg, was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, on January 16, 1929. Alan is survived by his three boys, Ian (Alison Barrett, Hamilton New Zealand), Kevin (Tracy, Huntsville, ON) and Keith (Trish Houston, Toronto, ON). Alan and his wife, Iris, immigrated from the UK to Toronto in 195, where Alan became a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and a member of the Ontario Association of Architects (1964) and worked at Page and Steele, Architects (1964 to 1977) before starting his own private practice (1977). Alan had a passion for the outdoors and together with his three boys and Iris, his loving wife of 63 years (deceased July 2018), they built a ski chalet in Huntsville, ON, where they spent many happy hours together as a family.
Alan was a longtime, dedicated member of Zeta Lodge, where he rose in rank (past Grand Master) and received many awards and recognitions for his commitment.
Alan was a grandfather to Colin, Olivia, Winston, Matilda, Connor and Emily and great-grandfather to Iris.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt, on Sunday, April 3rd from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
