Obituary
BOTHAM, Alan George
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alan George Botham at Muskoka Landing in Huntsville, Ontario on January 18, 2022. Born in Newmarket on December 24, 1940. Predeceased by parents Oscar George Botham and Evelyn Florence Botham. Survived by Frances, his wife of 51 years and sister Janice Belfry, half brother Bob Botham and half sister Margaret Botham Breen.
Al worked in a supervisory position at Kimberly-Clark in Huntsville for over 25 years. He was one of the first seven hired at start up of the Huntsville Mill. He led an interesting life doing the things he loved such as fishing, feeding birds and deer and being in the outdoors. He made maple syrup with a small operation called B’s Trees and enjoyed it for a number of years. When he retired from Kimberly-Clark he joined his wife in the antique business “B’s Antiques” opening a shop for himself called the Man Cave. This proved very successful and satisfying for him. He evolved into appraising coins, drawing in collectors from all across Ontario. He had an extensive knowledge in primitives, antique tools, early decoys, oil lamps and many other things that he loved to talk about and share his knowledge with others. He leaves a big hole in the lives of those around him.
Al has been cremated. There will be no service according to his wishes. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated or the planting of a tree in his memory.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Alan George Botham 2022..
