Agnes’ Obituary
Long time resident of Girouxville passed away on February 27, 2022 in McLennan at the age of 97 years. Agnes Bédard was born on September 20, 1924 in St. Laurent, Québec.
Agnes Bédard was a woman of quiet strength. Losing her husband Luc while still raising her large family, she rose to the occasion and did whatever was needed to give them all the care and love she could, on her own.
Agnes adored her family. Her favorite pastime was spending time with them. She loved to bake for them and all the grandchildren knew she had a freezer full of treats waiting for them whenever they visited. Her grandchildren all hold fond memories of having cherished sleepovers at grandma’s when they were little.
Agnes was an avid reader of biographies and history, and she especially enjoyed Pierre Berton.
Agnes one big adventure was taking a trip to Nova Scotia with her sister-in-law, traveling there by train. While there, she retraced the steps of her brothers walking to the ships to take them to war. Seeing the Bay of Fundy was a special memory she liked to recount.
She is predeceased by husband Luc Bédard, daughters Laurette and Lise Bédard, and grandson Timothy Bremont; and, she is Survived by 8 daughters and 1 son.
It was a blessing to have Agnes as a mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed.
