Adolph Lovich
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Adolph Lovich, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at the age of 96 years.
Adolph was born the only son to Mike and Anna Lovich in Stry, Alberta on April 25, 1925 and was predeceased by his sisters, Mary, Helen, Carrie, Josie. Olga; his grandson, David Lovich and step grandson, Braden Holmes.
Adolph’s parents moved from Stry to the Cherhill area in the 1930’s where they homesteaded to give their family a better life. It was in Cherhill that Adolph met his wife Mariana (Mary) Matras. They were married for 73 years. Adolph will be remembered for his love of farming, John Deere farm equipment, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pilsner beer and love of family.
He is survived by his wife, Mariana (Mary); his children, Gail (Murray) McKnight, Garry (Dianne) Lovich, Randy (Cheryl) Lovich and Kevin (Kim) Lovich; grandchildren, Evan McKnight, Cameron (Ericka) McKnight, Shannon (Dave) Ash, Stephen (Yvonne) Lovich, Michael (Jessica) Lovich, Andrea Donahue, Alyssa (Marc) Dickner, Michelle (Kyle) Schwab, Shaleigh Lovich, Katrysha Lovich, Emily Lovich and Colin Lovich; great-grandchildren, Keegan and Corin, Owen, Peyton, Emma and Blake, Reata, Renelle, Raelyn, Sophia, Colton, Jayce, Leah, Karter, Liam and Makenna; step-grandchildren, Eric (Jc), Luca and Elena Holmes, Kristen (Trent) Holmes and Shelby (Toby) Holmes.
Funeral Service Friday, March 4, 2022 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Onoway, Alberta at 11:00 a.m.
In honour of Adolph, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & Nunavut, suite 144, 5241 Calgary Trail N.W., Edmonton, AB T6H 5G8 or a charity of one’s choice.
