Obituary of Ada Marie Dargie
Dargie (Smith) Ada Marie – 101, of Bridgetown, passed away peacefully August 23, 2022, in Digby General Hospital. Born in North Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Ada (Bennett) and Vinton Smith. Ada worked alongside of her husband Alex, when they operated a General Store and Post Office in Round Hill for many years. Ada was a long time resident of Round Hill before moving to Bridgetown. She was a member of the Anglican Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed many hobbies which included gardening, knitting, rug hooking and puzzles. While living in Crosskill Court for 11 years Ada made lasting friendships. She is survived by daughters, Ellen Dargie Kidd and Carole Melanson-Chapman; granddaughters, Valerie, Jacqueline, Monette (Robert), Amanda (Steven), Maren (Nick) and Paige; great grandchildren, Dylan, Mackenzie, Maryn, Alexander, Kaitlin, Willa and Sawyer; grandpuppies, Lamont, Lule, Merlin and Lily Predeceased by husband, Everett Alexander; siblings, Blanche, Edward and Perley; grandson, Gilbert. Following Ada’s wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. Family flowers only. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday August 31, 2022, in St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown with Rev. Dawn-Lea Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
