Abbey Aucoin 2022

Abbey’s Obituary
Aucoin, Albert “Abbey” Leo – 67, Valley, NS. It is with immense sadness that the family of Abbey Aucoin announce his sudden and unexpected passing at home on January 17, 2022. Born on August 30, 1954, in New Glasgow, he was the son of Albert Aucoin and the late Annie (LaTulippe) Aucoin. Abbey enjoyed playing his guitars, taking scenic drives, and watching his Blue Jays (the bums!). He also took great pride in his children, watching them grow into talented and lovable adults. Playing and traveling with the band Horse was an irreplaceable experience for Abbey. He’ll be picking and grinning alongside Jimi Hendrix and his old pal Dutch Mason now. He counted amongst the very first Cougars football players at Cobequid Educational Centre and later became an avid dart player. He was retired from his work as a courier at FedEx and served countless drinks at the Ponderosa in years past. He may not have remembered every name, but he would know the beer you drank! Abbey is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Linda (Little); children, Tyler and Ashley; sister, Ann (Aucoin) Watts (Lloyd MacKay), PEI; brothers, Dale Aucoin, Halifax; Pat Aucoin, Summerside, PEI; brother-in-law, Leigh Little (Tammy Cook), Truro; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces near and far. He was predeceased by his mother, Annie Aucoin, and his wife’s parents, Gwen (Patriquin) Little and Wendell Little. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Oxford. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 20 in St. David’s United Church, Bible Hill. Donations in Abbey’s memory may be made to Heart and Stroke, Mental Health, or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mmcfunerals.com
