A Hope Parsons 19522022

A. Hope Parsons
1952-2022
The death
of Alice Hope Parsons of Woodstock occurred on Saturday, October 29,
2022 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville. Hope was born in
Hamilton, Ontario on June 19, 1952 and was the daughter of the late
Eldon and Gertrude (Burr) Rideout. Besides her parents she was also
predeceased by her brother, David Dalton Rideout; her sister, Lucille
Faith MacDougall and the love of her life George G.
Parsons.
Hope
“Hopie” is survived by her brother, Michael John Rideout;
her baby sister, Alanda “Landie” Ellen Drost (Larry); her
daughter, Charlene Marie Watson (Danny), her son, James Richard Watson
(Jolene); her grandchildren, Jonn, Allyson, Devin, Brandon, Donovan,
Peyton Rea and Ava Grace; special cousins, nieces and nephews, Sharon
Brewester, Tabitha Burrell, Jody Rideout, Nathan Rideout and Trent
Rideout; Hope and George’s best friend, Nancy
Davenport; long time friend, Anita Downey; her non
biological children, Sam DeMerchant and Jared
DeMerchant.
“Hopie”
was born in Hamilton, Ontario and was the oldest of 5 children, who
she mothered each and every one, especially the youngest, Alanda, who
she always referred to as “Landie” or “my baby”.
She moved to New Brunswick in her 20’s and relocated to the Saint John
area where she worked for several years in a salmon factory. She spent
most of her younger life there raising two
children. Moving to Lower Brighton in 2001, she
dedicated her life to helping others, working as a caregiver for the
Red Cross and helping with the day to day care of her elderly
mother.
Later in
life she developed her love in the art of painting landscapes. Anyone
that was very dear to her has a painting, if not
several.
Hope had
the sweetest disposition and spoke with so much eloquence but she also
liked her four letter words as much as she loved to paint. Her
extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more
curse words than most. With that said she was genuine to a fault and
would always tell you the truth whether you wanted to hear it or
not.
Without
her, our lives will be like a book without page numbers. The story
will go on, but it will feel out of
order….
Respecting
Hope’s wishes there will be no visitation of funeral service.
Donations made to DunRoamin Stray and Rescue would be appreciated. The
Britton Funeral Home is entrusted with the
arrangements.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of A Hope Parsons 19522022..
